He was penalized for a personal foul that allowed for Saints kicker Garrett Hartley to tie the game in the fourth quarter before kicking another one to defeat the 49ers 23-20.
Brooks wasn’t happy about getting penalized, telling reporters that he didn’t hit him with his hand or helmet.
“I basically bear-hugged him. That’s just how football is played. I think this s— is bulls—-. Football, the way they call stuff these days, it’s watered down. It ain’t real no more.”
Brees, meanwhile, felt the hit was more of a clothesline tackle, but didn’t think it was intentional or malicious, but believes that a penalty is in order.
