Chargers News: Malcom Floyd Placed On Injured Reserve

NFL: Preseason-Seattle Seahawks at San Diego ChargersChargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd was been placed on the injured reserve Tuesday, ending his season due to a neck injury he suffered in Week 2.

Floyd, 32, was sandwiched in a hit between Nate Allen and DeMeco Ryans, which caused him to go down in a series where his neck got knocked pretty hard.

He laid there motionless for about 10 minutes before being carried off on a stretcher.

Ryans was fined $21,000 for the hit.

It adds to a long history of injury issues for Floyd, who has never caught more than 56 catches in a season.

In two games this season he caught six passes for 149 yards, including a 47-yard reception.
