Lakers News: Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard ‘Apologetic’ For Steve Nash’s Injury
Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard feels bad about his role in causing Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash‘s lingering injury in his left leg that is experiencing nerve root irritation and is going to keep him out of action for about two weeks.
Lillard wishes it didn’t happen, stating it wasn’t intentional and that it’s unfortunate that it has carried on this long.
He hopes he isn’t the reason Nash decides to leave basketball.
“I saw on TV the other day that someone said something like, ‘Nash’s decline goes back to when him and Damian Lillard bumped knees,’” Lillard told CSNNW.
“Man, I wish that wasn’t me that bumped into him. Hopefully he’ll be able to get healthy soon.”
Lillard’s Blazers are in Canada for a Sunday matchup against the Raptors.
Nash should be back in time for Portland’s visit to Staples Center on Dec. 1.
