What's This?

111713-MaddenEA Sports’ Madden NFL 25 has arrived on next-generation consoles and is looking better than ever, but is it enough to warrant a purchase for gamers?

The first thing you’ll notice about the next-gen version of Madden is the crowd actually, which comes alive in the next generation console and reminds you of the fact after each accomplishment during the game.

If you’re looking for souped-up graphics you will get some here, but it’s not too great of an increase from the previous generations … yet.

Unlike previous generation jumps you will find that there is no longer a need to start over anew with a loss of game features.

Connected Franchise

- Owner Mode

That means that Connected Franchise mode remains in this version of the game. It allows you to beautifully set your team’s finances, staff and marketing, as well as relocate a franchise to one of 17 locations, including:

  • London
  • Los Angeles
  • Mexico City
  • Toronto
  • San Antonio
  • Orlando
  • Salt Lake City
  • Brooklyn
  • Memphis
  • Chicago
  • Sacramento
  • Columbus
  • Portland
  • Austin
  • Dublin
  • Houston
  • Oklahoma City

That’s right, Houston gets a chance for a second franchise, should you want that kind of thing to happen.

You’ll be able to customize a team name, uniform and stadium, as well as maintain the happiness of fans.

It’s a feature that would have butchered this next-generation title and a is a joy to have added on.

Want to play as Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders or Joe Montana? You’ll be able to do so and see how they would do against the modern-day NFL athletes.

How about coaching as Mike Ditka or John Madden? That’s possible too as over 50 legendary players and coaches are available to choose from in Connected Franchise.

Madden Share

A very cool, new feature is Madden Share which allows you to create and upload rosters, playbooks, sliders and more to share with the world.

Gone are the days where you’ll need to download them from a flash drive and into your game. It’s a very cool feature that had been lacking for so long. Why it took years to arrive is beyond one’s thinking.

If you are used to playing Madden on previous console generations you’ll feel right at home with the next generation.

Take full advantage of the $10 trade-in offer if you own the game on a previous generation console, where for $10 you’ll be able to swap that for a next-generation version of Madden.

Here are some videos of the gameplay:

The trade-in program offered for this game is great, allowing you to upgrade for just $10. You have nothing to lose. The game even allows you to transfer your Ultimate Team from previous console generations.

Aside from that it would be one to pass on as the graphic increase is marginal.

The ability to take screenshots and share video as well as live stream is very cool if you are into that.

But for the hardcore sports fan the only real difference you’ll notice is the crowd, which actually responds accurately, albeit a little too raucous at times.

Gamers: Buy
Sports Fans: Stick to the current generation
