by Jonathan GarzaNovember 7, 2013

110713-QatarThe World Cup in 2022 is likely to move from being played in June and July due to host country Qatar’s heat extremities.

During this time period, temperatures are expected to hover around 106 degrees Fahrenheit at its highest average, with a low average of 85 degrees. This past year the highest temperature reached 112 degrees with the coolest high sitting at 98 degrees.

A source close to the situation says that FIFA is supporting a move to November and December of 2022 because of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games taking place earlier that year in January and February.

The temperature hovers around 86 degrees during this time of the year, with a low of about 72, perfect weather for the soccer extravaganza.
